I don’t know which device to buy, how do I choose one?

A number of factors are to be considered when choosing your hairdryer: weight, power, performance, etc. Use our configurator to find the device most suited to your hair type. If in doubt, call our customer services team at:

    • +33 (0) 2 54 94 12 08 for consumers
    • +33 (0) 2 54 94 12 10 for professionals

Why buy a professional hair dryer?

To carry out their hairdressing tasks, professionals need suitable, high-performance equipment. Choosing a professional hairdresser’s device therefore gives you the assurance of having quality equipment with superior features, which consumer devices do not provide.

How can I identify devices with the ionic feature on the website?

The ionic feature is denoted by an “i” in the name of the Velecta® Paris devices.

Examples: ICONIC TGR 1.7i, REVOLUTION2.2i, etc.

How do I create my account on the Velecta® Paris website?

Creating a hairdressing professional’s account is done via "pro registration" in the menu at the top of our website (or at the address https://www.velecta-paris.com/fr/subscription-pro). Have your intra-community VAT number ready to complete the form. Once completed, we will validate this account, a message will be sent to you and you will have access to all Velecta® Paris perks.

    Do you deliver outside France?

Yes. Our hairdryers also come in versions that can be used abroad. Contact our customer services for more information at:

    •    +33 (0) 2 54 94 12 08 for consumers
    •    +33 (0) 2 54 94 12 08 for professionals

I have just bought my device at the Velecta® Paris site, how long will it take to deliver?

We attach great importance to fast delivery; on average, delivery takes from 48 to 72 hours from the shipping date. If it doesn’t reach you by this time, call us on:

    •    +33 (0) 2 54 94 12 08 for consumers
    •    +33 (0) 2 54 94 12 08 for professionals

Is a compact hairdryer just a travel hairdryer?

Despite their small size, Velecta® Paris brand compact hairdryers meet all a hairdressing professional’s requirements in terms of performance and reliability. Also suited to consumers’ requirements, these devices can of course be used during a trip, their size making them easy to transport.

Can my hairdryer replace my straightener?

The difference between these two types of device is not just a technical one, but basically has to do with the function they each serve. The straightener serves to style the hair strand by thermal action. The hairdryer, on the other hand, dissipates water on the hair’s surface to make it malleable for shaping. So, the two devices complement each other and are not incompatible!

I have changed my mind about the device I’ve just bought. What can I do?

Any product ordered on the internet has a withdrawal period of 14 days from the date of receipt. If you have changed your mind about the device, please return it, indicating the name of the returned product, to the following address:

    TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT
    VELECTA PARIS
    ZAC DE LA GRANGE
    41200 ROMORANTIN LANTHENAY
    FRANCE

Does my hairdryer work in all countries?

No, unfortunately it doesn’t. There are a great many different socket sizes and voltages around the world: flat plugs in the UK as opposed to the circular ones in France; 110-125V in North America as opposed to 230-240V in Europe. That’s why, before ordering your device, you must check the type of electrical plug and the voltage used in the country where you will be using it.

How long is the Velecta® Paris power cord?

To allow hairdressing professionals to be able to move around the customer's chair without bothering them, the power cord for Velecta® Paris devices all have a standard length of 3m, compared to a length of 1m (or even less) for consumer devices.

What is the ionic feature for?

The ionic, also called antifrizz mode, makes styling easier by neutralising static electricity on the surface of the hair. On the other hand, if you want to keep all your hair’s volume, make sure you turn off this feature.

What is the « cold » button for?

The “cold” button enables you to fix the hair strand in position once the brushing is complete. So your hair will hold longer and be less sensitive to humidity.

    What is a diffuser for?

A diffuser is an accessory attached to the end of the hair dryer instead of a nozzle. The diffuser is used to dry curly hair without affecting the curl.

    What is a nozzle for?

A nozzle is an accessory attached to the end of the hair dryer. It allows the air flow to be concentrated into an air curtain of uniform temperature and speed, making it possible to perform technically demanding tasks like brushings.

What feature should I use to add volume?

In addition to volume-adding products (mousse), dry your hair, taking care to turn off the antifrizz feature which would bring all the volume back down. Dry with the hairdryer pointing downwards with the nozzle around 20 to 30 cm away from the hair to avoid it getting flattened.

When should I dry my hair with the nozzle on and when should I take it off?

The air flow generated by a hairdryer without the nozzle on is circular. What the nozzle does is to channel the air in the form of a uniform blade. Whether or not you use the nozzle, the temperature of the air is sufficient to dry your hair. So, using a nozzle is a good idea if you are doing a localised technical task like brushing.

How do I choose the air speed?

Depending on the model, current hairdryers offer 2 or 3 different speeds. Select the right speed according to the task to be carried out and your hair type.  Choose low speeds for curly hair or sensitive hair. High speeds are for quick drying tasks only. In both cases, take care not to lay the nozzle on your hair, as you might damage it as well as the device.

How should I use the different heats?

Depending on the model, current hairdryers offer 3 or 4 different heats. Select the right speed according to the task to be carried out and your hair type.  Opt for low temperatures to fix the hair strands and high temperatures to wave the hair. Be careful to keep the nozzle far enough away from the hair, something which is often overlooked. A low temperature applied too near the hair can have the same effect as a high temperature applied far away from it. Make sure you always keep the hairdryer several centimetres away from the hair.

Can high heat damage my hair?

Yes. Whether or not your hair is sensitive, projected air at too high a temperature can damage the surface layer (cuticle) or even the internal layers (cortex and medula). The right thing to do is to apply enough temperature to dry the hair and to wave it but not too much in order not to damage it. The hairdresser’s skill lies in applying the right amount of heat according to each hairstyle and hair type. If in doubt, select low temperatures.

Do your hair dryers contain Tourmaline or Ceramic?

Tourmaline and certain ceramics are capable of generating ions under the action of a change in temperature. This so-called pyroelectric effect is not sufficient on its own to meet hairdressing professionals’ requirements. So, Velecta® Paris’s technology choices have therefore focused on powerful ionic generators far exceeding the pyroelectric effects of tourmaline and ceramic, which explains why these items are not found in our hairdryers.

How do I turn my REVOLUTION2.2i’s perm light on/off?

If the perm light is on, press the ion button (button below the speed and heat buttons) for 2 seconds to turn it off. Press it for 2 seconds to turn it back on.

How should I clean and maintain my hairdryer?

To prolong the life of your hairdryer, you must regularly clean its rear grille and its nozzle. For the plastic casing items, use a soft cloth without detergent. Finally, don’t wind the power cord around the device; roll it up in big loops without forcing it.

How do I clean my hairdryer’s grille?

Make sure that the device is turned off, is disconnected and has cooled down. Rotate the rear cover a quarter turn in an anti-clockwise direction. Remove the rear cover and then the grille. Brush the grille until all the dust and clogging is gone. Put the grille and rear cover back on.

    Is the rear cover removable?

Yes. All the models of the Velecta® Paris range have a removable rear cover to enable the grille to be cleaned. To remove it, rotate it a quarter turn in the anti-clockwise direction.

How do I store my hairdryer after use?

Once it has been turned off, disconnected and has cooled down, store the device in a place sheltered from impacts, dust and humidity. Above all, don’t wind the power cord around the device as this will lead to the cord breaking and to the risk of short-circuit. Instead, roll it up in big loops without forcing it. Regularly inspect the cord for faults. In the event of a fault, immediately stop using the device.

    My device is overheating, why?

A clogged filter is often the cause of overheating in a hairdryer. You must clean the filter regularly to avoid damaging the device. If the problem continues, contact our support department.

Can Velecta® Paris repair my device?

We attach particular importance to repairing rather than throwing away and replacing our devices. In order for us to proceed with the repair of your device, please send it to the following address along with the proof of purchase and a description of the problem encountered:

    TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT
    VELECTA PARIS
    ZAC DE LA GRANGE
    41200 ROMORANTIN LANTHENAY

I have just had my device repaired, does that mean the warranty has been extended?

The warranty applied to our devices is two years as of date of purchase. In the event of a fault occurring at the very end of the warranty period, we automatically extend it by six months without cost and without the user having to apply for it.

How long does the Velecta® Paris warranty last?

Whatever the device, our warranty is two years from date of purchase. If you have a fault during this period, please contact our customer services department immediately. They will listen to you and explain what you have to do. Note that we will then ask you for some information (warranty card or proof of payment).

My device has been sent for repair, how long will it take to get it back?

As part of our after-sales service policy, we make every effort to repair your hairdryer as quickly as possible. On average, a repaired device is returned within 7 days (excluding days the company is closed). If this term is exceeded we undertake to contact you to inform you of the provisional date of return of your device.

Can I get my device repaired more than 2 years after the date of purchase?

Yes. Repair it to make it last: Velecta® Paris is committed in its eco-responsible approach to giving your hairdryer a new lease of life. Refer to the “repairs outside warranty” section for more information on the shipment terms for your device.

What is the purpose of registering the device on the Velecta® Paris website?

Registering it means you will not have to provide us with the device’s proof of purchase documents; this is a good idea considering that Velecta® Paris’s warranty is two years!

How much does a repair outside warranty cost?

The cost of a repair depends on the items that need replacing and on the time that needs to be devoted to it.

To obtain a specific estimate for your device, call our customer services department on:

    •    +33 (0) 2 54 94 12 34 for consumers and hairdressing professionals

What checks do you carry out when making a repair?

All devices repaired by our support department undergo a triple check:

    1.         A functional check.

The speed of the motor, the heat setting and its other features are tested individually.

    1.         A check on its consumption.

The device’s consumption is checked to see that it meets the original specifications.

    1.         A safety check.

We ensure that the replaced items are safe for the user.
